Finds of the week

Oh how I wish I wore size 5 1/2 or 6! Great finds from one of my favorite thrifts, just sitting on the back shelf. Vintage 60's Givenchy brown mary janes. Vintage custom made Beltrami heeled oxfords from Florence and an amazing pair of vintage 1940's Bombshell floral sandals. Heading to No Carnations as soon as I get the time...maybe tomorrow afternoon ~

Into the Pale

June preview...the shop is going pale

White, white, June's delight. Well, white with cream and a few extra tidbits for interest. Like exotic vanilla bean ice cream. With such a light palette, the texture is everything. Here you have lots of lace in the form of eyelet, English, Batten-burg, embroidered and crochet on hems, collars, layers, ruffles, buttons and shoulders.

Have a great weekend

My weekend

...in Chicago!

My first time in the windy city a few weeks ago and I went a little picture crazy

I am officially in love with Chicago! I can't stop thinking about it's little neighborhoods, the Vietnamese market, the Polish deli or the large Italian family that showed us so much kindness.
Walking down the Magnificent Mile or to the Navy pier, even in such tourist places there is a grand sense of community.

I was completely overwhelmed by the architecture, the history and the river. Obviously the food was amazing, from the ubiquitous Chicago Dog to the unexpected Mexican Cantina Decero on Peoria and the lovely meal we had at Noha.

Surprising elements included the playfulness of people at the Bean in Millennium Park, witnessing the Chicago critical mass and the comical feeling of walking around Gotham City at night ;)

It's Gonna be a hot time in the old town tonight!
