sweet sisters

Found a ruby silk velvet 1930s dress that is the sweet, sweet sister to the identical one in black that I sold last year.

The vintage world never ceases to amaze us all I think.
In the shop tomorrow!

Faking it ~ Shop update

It has been extremely hard to list Winter items this week. The cranberry and plums colors above as well as the velvet are my attempt at faking a Christmas spirit.

Dear Texas, 80 degree weather and everywhere still showing green makes Holiday tidings and cheer feel a little out of place.

But colder weather is in the forecast starting next week, so until then, the shop is on auto-pilot.
Happy December!

Venus

We all know that sometimes a particular vintage dress needs its own blog post right?
This is truly one of those dresses.

Amazing lace in amazing condition
Cute details like the wrap jacket, rhinestone buckle and racerback

But the thing that really gets me is the attitude. The bias on this dress makes the butt look SO GOOD!
The hips are out there as well, in the 'i own this' sort of way.
It even makes my straight as a board mannequin look like the Venus de Milo. (right half of 1st pic)

Yeah baby she's got it.
